Georgia's state bird, the Brown Thrasher, is found in the southeastern United States extending north during summer months. These talented birds have more than 1,000 songs in their repertoire and can mimic the songs of other birds. They prefer the protection of dense ground cover or shrubs. Long bills enable them to probe for insects. Seeds and fruit round out the Brown Thrasher's diet.
