Lark Bunting

The Lark Bunting is the state bird of Colorado. These prairie birds, which are on the Audubon WatchList, are found in open meadows and fields, often in large flocks during the winter. They nest and feed at ground level, where they can search for insects and seeds. During summer, males are a bold black with white wing patches. When flying, flocks may rotate in circular patterns.
